Salmon Burgers with Tzatziki

A delightful and healthy twist on your traditional burger, featuring flaky salmon paired with a creamy tzatziki sauce.

  • 1 lb flaky salmon, skin removed and chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (like dill and parsley), chopped
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for grilling
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chopped salmon, breadcrumbs, fresh herbs, lemon zest, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 4-6 even patties, ensuring they are compact.
  3. Heat olive oil in a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the salmon patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked with a golden brown crust.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to prepare the tzatziki sauce.
  5. Serve the salmon burgers hot, topped generously with tzatziki sauce and your choice of sides.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding finely-chopped red onion or bell pepper to the mixture. Chill patties before cooking for better texture.
