Grilled Onion Ring Burgers

Delightful burgers topped with smoky grilled onion rings and melty cheese, perfect for barbecues or cozy dinners.

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 large onions, sliced into thick rings
  • 4 slices of cheese (e.g., American, Swiss)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional condiments (mustard, ketchup)
  • Olive oil or cooking spray for grilling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat and coat with olive oil or cooking spray.
  2. Slice the onions into thick rings, about ½ inch thick.
  3. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form into patties, slightly larger than the onion rings.
  4. Grill the onion rings for about 5-7 minutes until caramelized.
  5. Grill the beef patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip, adding cheese on top, until melted and cooked to desired doneness.
  6. Assemble the burgers by layering an onion ring, a beef patty with melted cheese, and another onion ring on top.
  7. Serve hot with your choice of condiments.
