  • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (100g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup (30g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups (250g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and fit the unbaked pie crust into a pie plate.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Sprinkle flour and salt over the mixture and mix on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) with a spatula.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 50-65 minutes, until the edges are set and lightly golden. The center should have a slight wobble.
  8. Cool the pie on a wire rack for 2-3 hours before serving.

Notes
