Gluten-Free Caramel Apple Tart

A delightful dessert featuring baked apples and a rich caramel drizzle in a buttery gluten-free crust, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, softened butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of a tart pan.
  4. In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
  5. Arrange the spiced apples over the crust in the tart pan.
  6. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top of the apples.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Consider adding a dash of nutmeg for extra flavor. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
