Crab Rangoon Melt

An irresistible twist on a classic favorite, combining creamy crab filling with the crispy goodness of a grilled cheese sandwich.

  • 1 cup crab meat, well-drained
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, crab meat, mayonnaise, green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, lemon juice, and mozzarella; mix well.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side of two bread slices, spread crab mixture and top with remaining slices, buttered sides facing out.
  5. Toast the sandwiches in the skillet, about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Remove, slice diagonally, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding hot sauce to the filling or folding in chopped bell peppers or water chestnuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
