  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp cotton candy flavoring
  • Cotton candy topping (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully combined before adding the next.
  5. Gradually add the milk and mix until smooth.
  6. Mix in the cotton candy flavoring until well combined.
  7. Fill the cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool completely before frosting and decorating with cotton candy.

Notes

For extra moisture, consider using buttermilk instead of whole milk. Add food coloring for a fun appearance.
