Cookie Monster Ice Cream

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1 cup chocolate chip cookie dough chunks
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)

Instructions

  1. Chill your ice cream maker bowl in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and desired amount of blue food coloring until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into the chilled ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (about 20-25 minutes).
  4. In the last five minutes of churning, add the chocolate chip cookie dough chunks and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies.
  5. Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container, press parchment paper on the surface, and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  6. Scoop the Cookie Monster Ice Cream into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra creamy texture, refrigerate the mixture for a couple of hours before churning. You can also experiment with different cookie types.
