Chocolate and Nutella Macarons

Delightful French macarons with a rich chocolate flavor and creamy Nutella filling, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder.
  3. Beat the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar and whip until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the sifted dry ingredients into the whipped egg whites.
  5. Fold in the vanilla extract.
  6. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles on the lined baking sheet.
  7. Let the macarons rest for 30-60 minutes until they form a skin.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until firm to the touch.
  9. Cool completely before peeling off the parchment paper.
  10. Spread Nutella on half of the shells and sandwich them with the remaining shells.
  11. Enjoy or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For best results, use aged egg whites and ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Consider using a silicone mat for even baking.
