  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Cherries: Wash and pit the fresh cherries, setting them aside.
  2. Create the Cherry Mixture: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the cherries, sugar, and water, stirring occasionally.
  3. Thicken the Filling: Mix cornstarch with two tablespoons of water to create a slurry and gradually stir it into the cherry mixture, cooking until thickened.
  4. Add the Zesty Finish: Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
  5. Cool Before Using: Allow the filling to cool completely before using.
