Amish Apple Fritter Bread

Warm and cozy Amish Apple Fritter Bread, infused with the sweet-tart flavor of apples and a delightful glaze, perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 cups Apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then stir in Vanilla.
  4. Mix Dry Ingredients in another bowl, then add to Wet Mixture alternating with Milk.
  5. Fold in diced Apples.
  6. Pour batter into a greased bread pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes then glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar and a splash of milk.
  9. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute eggs with flaxseed meal mixed with water and use plant-based milk and dairy-free butter.
